RIDER TRAINING FOR ALL

Posted: Thu 31 Aug 2000

Kiwi Rider Coaching provides training for almost all kinds of riders, which is evident by the three multi day training events to occur late September.

The first event is a road race training event to be held at Manfeild September 22-23. Riders will learn about body position, body movement, race lines, passing, starting, braking and all sorts of cornering. With Trainers including Tony Rees, Dean Fulton and Brian Bernard, as well as Personal Training and video analysis, this training opportunity is a must for all aspiring road racers.

Just one day later, starting September 25, the Junior Off road riders get their chance to learn from the Champions with the annual, and very popular, Junior 3 day camp to be held at both the Taupo Motocross track, home of the Taupo MX Spectacular and this years NZ Senior MX Championship final and Kaingaroa forest. Riders stay in an Outdoor Pursuits Centre where they learn about personal organization and cooperation as well as how to roost a berm, change a spark plug, climb a hill and stay in control over a jump.

Now for the ladies…. Three days after the Juniors exit Taupo, the female riders gather for their annual training camp. Like the Juniors, the Woman use both the MX track September 30th and the Forest October 1st for riding and learning. Riders of all ages and abilities are catered for. One special feature is the overnight stay at the Iwitahi Outdoor Pursuits Centre where tall stories fly in all directions! The food is top notch as is the company so a good time is guaranteed for the wide range of people who attend.

With the Road race event limited to just 25 rider and over 50 riders attending the Junior and Woman’s training camp in 1999, keen riders should enter early to avoid disappointment.

Entry forms are available in Kiwi Rider magazine or by contacting Nick Reader.

Further events coming up later in the year include a South Island tour November/December and a road riders track day at Taupo December 17.

Enter now to develop your riding, meet some new people and to have some fun.
