Flu Slows Rees at Lakeside

A flu-ridden Tony Rees could only manage a sixth and three fourths at the penultimate round of the Australian Formula Xtreme Series at Lakeside on Sunday.

The Kawerau rider started the day well, running a close third to the two Radar Team Yamaha riders, Team Yamaha had promoted another of their extremely quick R6 600cc riders, Robert Baird to partner Kevin Curtain on an R1.
But during the second lap of heat one, Rees missed a gear and ran off the track. He rejoined in eighth and fought his way back to finish sixth. In the other three heats, he finished fourth behind the two Team Yamaha R1s and Shannon Johnson’s Honda
