Hondas TRX500FA for release in 2001 has a new innovation in it\'s Auto transmission.

This is a whole new type of auto with no belts. This new transmission uses hydraulic fluid to transmit it\'s power. It has a computer controlled hydrostatic-drive that features continuously variable output.

The Hondamatic transmission is said to be very efficient ranging from 78% in full reduction to 98%.

The new transmission also gives engine braking that is not possible with a belt driven auto.

The TRX500Fa is powered by a 499cc liquid cooled OHV engine.

Another clever piece of engineering from the company that invented the ATV
