Ben Townley wins Supercross Lites nail biter in Dallas.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki’s Ben Townley has pulled off his 3rd Supercross Lites win of the season, this time at a slightly muddy Texas stadium in Dallas.

Townley’s blinding start saw him grab the Progressive hole-shot award however a wide line before an on-off obstacle saw both Kawasaki team-mate Darcy Lange and Ryan Dungey slip by the Kiwi. The former MX2 world champ, immediately realized his mistake and changed his racing line, upping his pace and corner speed. Around the halfway mark, ‘BT’ intuitively went wide after the finish line to capitalized on a mistake by Dungey. He sailed past both Dungey and Lange in the same move and controlled the rest of the race to the checkered flag.

“Mission accomplished,” stated Townley. “ I had quite a bit of fun tonight and am really pumped with my hole-shot. It’s been a long time since I have felt this good on a bike. I feel like I have turned a bit of a corner in my riding - my whole package feels like it came together tonight.”

Townley has succeeded in closing down the deficit to 3 points over championship leader Ryan Morais. Riders and teams will enjoy a well deserved break in the calendar before the championship decider will take place in Detroit, Michigan on the 21 April.
