Tatum Takes The Day But Barth Retained His Crown:
2000 World Champion Kelvin Tatum (Great Britain) won the day at the Yarrows New Zealand Long Track Grand Prix at Pukekura Raceway, in New Plymouth, however his effort to overtake defending champion Robert Barth (Germany), were to no avail and Barth was crown World Long Track Champion, today November 1.
The event, the first Long Track Championship round held outside of Europe, was the brainchild of Nine-times World Champion Ivan Mauger, although the weather was a little chilly, the big crowd enjoyed the day of long track racing.
