Honda dominates the Woodville GP:
The 42nd Woodville Motocross GP held over the weekend, sponsored for the first time by Blue Wing Honda was a huge success.
With 650 riders and a crowd in the region of 4,000, spectators were treated to an awesome weekend of racing in the windy but fine conditions. One lucky 8 year old spectator took home the 2003 XR50 give away prize.
Castrol Honda Red Rider, Shayne King, showed the form he has had all season has not left him with an incredible 8 moto wins from 8 starts, taking out the Freedom Honda sponsored 250cc GP and Carian Honda sponsored 500cc GP titles. Corrie Sargent also performed exceptionally well to finish the Carian Honda sponsored 500GP in 3rd place behind Team Yamaha\'s and last year\'s GP winner Darryll King.
In the Freedom Honda sponsored 125cc GP a first corner incident saw Cody Cooper out of the race and in the pits with a broken exhaust, however in the 2nd 125cc GP he was a convincing winner. The 125cc GP was eventually won with a solid performance by Kawasaki rider Michael Cotter.
Castrol Honda Race team Manager Dave Borlase said, \"Once again the Manawatu Orion Motorcycle Club have done an incredible job with the track preparation and behind the scenes management of this premier event.\"
\"I am also delighted to see Paul Whibley and Peter Broxholme back riding Honda again with both riders showing good form. Richard Adamson on the CR250R is also returning to full fitness after recent shoulder reconstruction.\"
\"I would like to acknowledge the support of local dealers Carian Honda, Dannevirke Honda and Freedom Honda who helped make this event the success it was\"
\"Blue Wing Honda is looking forward to making the 2004 event even more successful\"
