Unfortunately we didn\'t make it to New Plymouth this last weekend but we\'d love to hear from those who did. Julie Cooper of Whangarei owes her great weekend to the high level of her home club support...
\"Friday morning was a long 7 hour drive down to New Plymouth. We arrived feeling very excited and, after finding the motel, went for a look at the track. Now the nerves begin to hit me. It was a bit wet after all the rain they have just had and there were a lot of off-camber corners and hills. After a bit off a pep talk from the \"Force of the North\" crew (Whangarei club) the nerves settled.

On Saturday morning we had a early rise to find that it had rained a bit that night so we had a keen idea of what the track was like. We walked the track as the rest of the gang gave me a lot of awesome hints, getting me ready to race.

The Practice was difficult, being very slippery, but it soon dried up and the races began. In my first race I was rapt to finish 4th and followed this with a 5th in a hard second race.

Sunday saw another early rise and an awesome sunny day (\"Hot!\") My confidence was high and in the three races I was placed 4th, 5th and then 2nd in the last race. Man, I was rapt. The support I got in all my races was just great, with all the club members right behind me and cheering me on. I really appreciated it.

At the prize giving on Sunday night I got a certificate and, major shock, I was awarded an awesome trophy for \"Most Outstanding Rider\" in the woman\'s classes. So, basically, I had an awesome weekend and I really owe it to all my support from the \"FORCE OF THE NORTH CREW.\" Thanks.
