It WILL Happen:

From Tim Gibbes:

The motorcycle road race section of the YELLOW PAGES 500 at Ruapuna on October 19/20 will still happen, but with a different format & organiser.

To simplify the confusion I have decided to withdraw form "fronting" this event, & Steve Ward from Motorcycling Canterbury will organise it.

Please contact Stephen Ward: pilet@quicksilver.net.nz
29 Bella Rosa Drive, Hornby, ChCh
Phone 03 342 7559 (home)
Mobile phone 025 2 WHEELS which is: 025 294 3357

This will mean that the prizemoney, travel expenses, supplementary regulations & other details that I sent out & posted on the www.motorcyclesport.co.nz website are now null & void.

I do hope you will support the event nevertheless.

Final round of the Suzuki Championship Road Race Series is at Manfeild on September 21/22, with practice & coaching on the Saturday & racing on Sunday.

As well our series will be screened on Sky Sport 2 on the following dates:
4th October at 21.00 hours.
8th October at 16.30
13th October at 14.00

And on Sky Sport
20th October at 13.30
22nd October at 22.00

Super Motard will be an additional attraction at the 2002 Manawatu Fireworks Spectacular to be held at Manfeild on Wednesday evening 6th November (rain out date 13th).

This major public drawing event will be staged at Manfeild near Feilding, & we need about 20 Super Motard riders to put on a good show. Queue up with Tim!

The New Zealand round of the Super Motard World Championship has now been cancelled - don't believe the FIM media release about "at the request of the local promoter". There never was one, as it was the WC S1 Promoters "YouthStream" who were going to run it here, with the help of some hardy local volunteers.

As a consequence the Australian round has been postponed a week to now run at Broadford, Victoria on October 17th.

Wouldn't it be good if we had some Kiwi Motarders ride the Aussie event!
