PRODUCT REPORT
After a gritty IRC Tyres Tarawera 100 and a round of the New Zealand
Motocross Championships at Huntly that were both pretty hard on brakes,
I must say I am very impressed with my Vesrah brake pads. They have lasted
and performed very well. No squealing or grabbing, just a progressive
feel.
EVENT REPORT
The course was on rolling hill country with off-cambers. It cut up rough
fairly quickly. The hard pack base was really slippery but I had some good
racing with Cam Smith (Suzuki RM250) and Cameron Laird (Honda
CR250).
In the first race Cam Smith managed to holeshot and he led until he fell in a corner. Cameron Laird then inherited the lead and I was chasing him in second place. About half race distance I passed Laird for the lead. Then, with three laps to go, I got a flat tyre. Despite that, I held on to score the moto win.
Cam Smith holeshot again in the second moto with Laird second while I gave chase in third. After getting past Laird, I tailed Smith then passed him too. Just as I was getting set for another win, I crashed! But I was back up again in time to hold onto second place and managed to catch back up to Smith. But I ran out of laps to make a pass and settled for second.
Just for a change, I holeshot the final moto and ran away with it to win comfortably.
So with 1-2-1 moto results, I won the round on my Husky, which was running superbly.
