Darryl Atkins made his debut in the 250 class at the 2nd Round of the British Championship staged at Lyng, Norfolk on Sunday.
He rode through the pain barrier, to take a satisfying nine points on the day. Still suffering with a back injury the Kiwi was keen to pick up a few points and get some time on the 250. He came through from bad starts in both races to finish 18 and 14.
Tallon Vohland, Darryl`s team mate won the 125 class
Mike Church said,“That`s a fantastic result for the team, its our first win at a British Motocross Championship and I hope it’s the first of many, I was also pleased with Darryl, we were unsure if he would ride but I think we made the right decision, he was riding well he is just still suffering with a back injury and not quite race fit, but that will come, he also only rode the bike once in the week, so after some testing, he will also feel more comfortable. We still have six rounds of the championship left and a lot can happen ”
