MX in the Middle East.The Qatar Challenge MX event is being staged in the middle of the MX GP season but it does not carry any points for the series.
On the completely new, 100-percent sand track, which is located by the beach about 40 minutes south of Doha (capital of Qatar), a good selection of the top GP riders today had their first opportunity to get a taste of a facility that they might see more of in the not-too-distant future as it\'s rumoured that the track will be used for the first World MX GP for 2003, and for the 2003 Motocross des Nations.
Josh Coppins was the fastest overall rider.One second behind Josh was Frenchman, Arnaud Demeester (recent winner of popular Le Touquet sand race), followed by German Pit Beirer. Fourth was Belgian Joel Smets, followed by fellow Belgian, Denny Theib and Italian Andrea Bartolini.
