A new Superbike record to Troy Bayliss, as the Australian scored a double at Philip Island making a perfect 4 wins from 4 starts in any series.

Castrol Honda’s Colin Edwards was 2nd in both races, he followed Bayliss for 18 laps in Race 1 then he made a mistake when he missed a gear and lost ground to Bayliss. In Race 2 Edwards ran out of grip on his tyres two laps from the end and he had to watch Bayliss pull away.

Ruban Xaus finished 3rd, in both races. Bostrom, Hodgson, and Izutsu fought out the minor places.

Haga dropped out of Race 1 in lap ten with brake problems. He finished 6th in the second race.
