It is with regret that the Board of Motorcycling New Zealand advise of the resignation of the Chief Executive, David Appleton.

Appleton has achieved some very meritorious results in his time with MNZ, not the least of which was the changing of the structure of MNZ itself. He had the foresight to bring two world championship events to New Zealand, namely the International Six-Day Enduro in 2006 and the last round of the World SuperMotard Championship in November this year. He also has three others prospective championships under negotiation.

MNZ\'s Board has been advised of the reasons, for David\'s decision and accept them with regret. David has accepted a position back in the commercial world, based in Hamilton.
\"David came into MNZ like a breath of fresh air and told us what was wrong and went about fixing it. He has achieved much more than any of us could have reasonably expected in such a short time. For someone who did not have a motorcycling background he has shown a passion for our sport that is highly respected,\" said MNZ\'s Board.
\"We would like to thank David for his strong contribution and wish him all the very best in his future and trust that his support will not be lost to MNZ and its members,\" said MNZ\'s President Errol Conaghan.

David has put a lot of irons in the fire for motor cycle sport ie. A round of the Indoor Trials series and the major events mentioned above.
One can only hope the person who fills David`s shoes will now pick up the ball and run with it.
