Castrol Honda Red Rider Ben Harding won the New Zealand title in the 250 class of the New Zealand TT championships held near Turangi on Sunday 12th August. Team-mate Paul Whibley finished a close second on the day.
The open class title was won by Richard (Dic Dog) Adamson, riding the new 2002 XR650HRC.
Sensation of the day was 17 year old Cody Cooper, aboard Blue Wing Honda’s CR500 for the first time, finishing second in the title chase behind Adamson.
Cooper later annihilated the field in the ‘dash for cash’, which was held at the end of the day.
