New Zealand\'s top motorsport star, expat motocross ace Josh Coppins has opened his own website.
He is operating joshcoppins.com with assistance from Europe\'s leading motocross online magazine mxlarge of Germany.
Coppins, in his second year as a factory rider with top-rated team Suzuki, was fourth in the elite world 250 championship last year and is expected to go higher.
He\'s believed to be New Zealand\'s first motocrosser with his own website and is one of the few worldwide.
\"It\'s an important step for us,\" said the Motueka-born 24-year-old.
\"There\'s a new breed of riders emerging as the championships become more and more professional: we need to communicate with our fans and backers worldwide.
\"So far we\'re only beginning with the site, just providing information and so on. But already it\'s interactive and we are getting some good feedback.
\"We will develop to be an access point for a whole lot of things like merchandise and so on,\" Coppins said.
\"What I like best about it is the site gives fans a look at the personal side of the rider - with so many followers spread across Europe and beyond, that\'s impossible to do in person.\"
joshcoppins.com is up and running now.
