‘Let me entertain you’

OK, so YES I pinched that line of Robbie Williams and NO, he is not playing at Suzuki Desert Storm BUT there is some great entertainment lined up for this year.

From Saturday at 5pm the fun starts with 50cc Scooter racing. With a shot gun start and rider changes every couple of minutes this is great fun for the crazy riders and amused on lookers.

Then into the wheelie competition. A long flat paddock has been sourced right next to the pits to test the king of one wheel. He (or she) who wheelies the longest distance wins the cash and product.

Next it’s rodeo time and into barrel racing. With side by side one on one action the riders have to ride around the 2 cones set at 25 metres. So it just might be the smaller bikes that come out on top. The comp will be run as a knock out coming down to a final of just 2 riders in the grand finale.

Then it is time for tea – with great meals prepared by the NZ Army Chefs on site, hot and ready to go.

During and after tea the video of the days ride and competitions will be played just to check out who got sideways, flat or maybe even upside down on the trails.

The big addition for \'04 is the live band playing from 8 till late. The band is sure to keep everyone entertained along with the help of the odd beer and Motocross/ Freestyle MX tapes playing on the big projector screen.

The bonfire starts at 9pm and is the hot spot to stand around, stare into the fire and tell lies about the day and other rides gone by. Like the saying goes “The older I get, the faster I was”.

So if you were planning just to turn up for the day, ride, then bail home then maybe your should re-think and stay Saturday night to check out all the added extras that make Suzuki Desert Storm - no ordinary trail ride.
