Mick Doohan managed to close the gap between himself and
championship leader, Max Biaggi, with a win in the 500cc
Imola Grand Prix in the weekend. Doohan won the race in a time
of 46:00.092, nearly 6 seconds ahead of 2nd place getter Alex Criville. Biaggi
came in a further 2 seconds behind to secure 3rd place. There are only 4 points
separating championship leader Max Biaggi and Mick Doohan in second.
New Zealander Simon Crafer finished in 11th.
